TRIUNE District MLK Day of Service
Volunteers will partake in various activities on this day – mostly, however, painting inspirational murals throughout the insides of whichever school they choose to volunteer at (we pre-sketch the murals, so you don't need to be an artist – you just need to know how to paint between the lines!). There is also the possibility that you may be craft-making for community groups in the area, and helping build new classroom structures. These schools are going to be completely transformed by the end of the day – we're all very excited to see the final product.
All children under the age of 18 will need to bring a waiver filled out by an adult to the event.

The Grand Opening of
The Underground Railroad Museum at Historic Belmont Mansion in Fairmount Park
The Underground Railroad Permanent Exhibition is designed to celebrate the opening of the Underground Railroad Museum and to share the story of Belmont Mansion's founding family, the Peters, whose abolition and Underground Railroad activities extended from the Colonial Period through the mid 19th century. The exhibit is designed in two exhibit sections, l) The Underground Railroad in Pennsylvania (the Cottage Complex Orientation Room); and 2) The Peters Family and their role in the Abolition and Underground Railroad movements in Pennsylvania.
Please be sure to review the attached materials with your sons or Den to ensure a great level of history and cultural information for the youth.
