At the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, we have launched Imagine Africa with the Penn Museum, a year long gallery project and community engagement initiative, and we would love to have you, your friends and family join us for some of the great programming we have in store this year!

Coming up Thursday, October 20 at 6 pm—we kick off our Imagine Africa Lecture Series!  Join us for a talk by Dr. Tukufu Zuberi, the Lasry Family Professor of Race Relations at the University of Pennsylvania, filmmaker, human rights activist, and the dynamic host of the PBS series "History Detectives." He'll share details about his newest film project, "Africa and the World" and discuss the challenges of making a documentary in Africa.  His multimedia presentation explores the power of documentary filmmaking and other forms of media in telling the story of the impact the world has had on Africa, and in turn, the impact Africa has had on the world.

When you come for the lecture, you are welcome to  visit the Imagine Africa gallery project before or after the talk; the Museum remains open until 8 pm.
