Boy Dies After Being Pulled From Cobbs Creek Pool

HELP NEEDED FOR FAMILY & COMMUNITY: Boy Dies After Being Pulled From Cobbs Creek Pool..."BACK TO SCHOOL DRIVE" and a "FAMILIES FORWARD SHELTER FUN DAY" on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, from noon to 3:00 P.M.

The Honorable Representative Vanessa Lowery Brown is organizing this event at the Families Forward Philadelphia shelter residence, located on 111 N. 49th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139.

The express purpose behind these events is to attempt to assuage some of the underlying tensions and lingering sadness following the tragic drowning death of 7 year-old Jabriel O'Connor. As I am sure you are aware, during the time of his unfortunate demise, Jabriel was a resident of the Families Forward Philadelphia shelter, the employees and staff of which are deeply saddened by the harrowing incident. DONATION REQUEST

Therefore, in an effort to bring the community together during these somber and trying times, Representative Brown would like to take this opportunity to request your support with providing the citizens of this community with a sense of levity, vitally important resources, and positive activities of which they avail themselves of and participate in (i.e., face painting, summer clothes for children from 0 to age 18, etc.).

Any assistance that you and your organization can provide would be greatly appreciated. For more information regarding these events, or to discuss the matter at further length, please feel free to contact either Representative Brown or myself. Thank you for your consideration of this request. The representative anxiously looks forward to your support and participation.

Best Regards,
Brandon J. Flood, Executive Director
