Dear Parents and Scouts,
For all Scouts 14 and older or who will be 14 by June 1 I would like for you to consider being a part of the Camp Staff at Resica Falls. This is an opportunity to be at camp for the entire summer. Although you will be working and gaining valuable experience as to what it is to have a full time job and learning to live on your own, you will also have the time for rank advancement and earning merit badges. There are two opportunities for Camp Staff
- CIT: Counselor-in-Training positions are non-paid staff positions for Scouts ages 14 to 15 years old
- Counselor: These positions are regular camp staff positions were you will be paid for Scouts ages 16 and older

Do not delay. I have been given information that interviews will take place Monday 18 February at the Firestone Scout Headquarters Office in Valley Forge. If you have any questions let me know.
Regarding Troop 133 summer camp plans, depending on the staffing level you may get permission to take time off should you want to attend camp with the troop. However, being on staff is such a great experience that if a choice is to be made I would say stay on staff.
TROOP ONE
Troop One is a camping experience where Scouts attend camp at Resica Falls, our local Council camp near East Stroudsberg, PA, without their unit. In other words, the Scout's troop does not go to camp or the Scout misses the opportunity to go to camp when his troop does. At Troop One the Scout is joined up with other Scouts who are there without their unit, and are formed into a provisional troop lead by an experienced Scout leader who works at the camp. The Scout is then able to attend camp for a week or multiples of weeks throughout the entire camp season.
Troop One is open to all Scouts and even if a Scout goes to summer camp with us, he could still attend any remaining week at Resica Falls as part of Troop One. If interested please let me know and I will get an application. The cost for each week is approximately $350 and there are discounts for additional weeks. Additionally, Campership funding can be used for Troop One since it is at our Council camp. A campership application is monetary assistance to a Scout that will pay up to 50% of the cost for camp. You may submit a campership application for every week of Trocp One that a Scout applies to attend.
One note, Camperships are usually awarded on a first come first serve basis and money is awarded as long as it is there. For example, Week # 7 is usually the first week of August and normally the last week of camp. If there is any money left for Camperships almost all Campership applications for that week is awarded. One reminder, for Scouts attending Troop One, transportation to and from camp is the Scouts' family responsibility. Attached is a campership application and you can consider the weeks of camp starting with the last week of June extending as noted to the first week of August.
