Subject: DISCOVER SCUBA SUNDAY 18 MARCH ST. JOE'S POOL
To:

Dear Scouts and Parents,

On Sunday 18 March from 1400-1700 hrs (2:00-5:00 p.m.) there will be a Discover Scuba Day conducted at St. Joseph's University Pool.  This event will be an introduction to scuba diving for Scouts.

Qualified scuba diving instructors from the Aquahut Dive Shop, a local scuba diving store and instruction school will give a demonstration on using diving equipment and Scouts will be able to try on scuba equipment and get into the pool.

All pool entries are under the supervision of instructors and other qualified divers and Scouts in the pool are not left alone and are observed at all times.

This event is only for those Scouts who have passed the BSA swim test and is open to all Scouts.  Those Scouts who will are interested in becoming certified divers will be able to sign up for an instructional program after this event.

Scuba Diving is now a BSA merit badge and Scouts must complete a certification program to earn the badge in addition to needing to have the Swimming merit badge.  Scouts who want to participate can sign up on Saturday but should communicate with me now.  All Scout must have a signed waiver form to participate.  There are no exceptions to the waiver.

Yours in Scouting,

J.R. Brockman
