Dear Parents,
The Scout Committee are those individuals who act as the Board of Directors for the Troop. These are volunteers who act as non-uniform leaders occupy various positions, such as our co-Treasurers Ms. Pearsall and Ms. Haughton, to include Ms. Sandra Anderson who is also acting as our Transportation Chairperson.
Mr. Victor Morrow has moved over to the Troop side from the Cub side as the Troop Committee Chairperson and de facto head of the Parents Committee which all parents belong to.
Members of the Scout Committee must complete a BSA Adult Volunteer Application and are registered with the troop along with the leaders. We must have a minimum number of registered Committee Members to function as a troop and be chartered to include an identified Committee Chairperson.
Currently Mr. Morrow has informed me that he will be in and out of the city for the next several months for work and as a result this will limit his activity with the troop. We need to have a co-Chairperson who can act in as Comittee Chair in his absence, which basically works to organize not only the Scout committee, but also helps organize parents as part of the Parents Committee.
If there is someone who would like to volunteer this would be great. If by chance we have more than one individual we will have to hold elections at the parent's meeting. Please respond to me right away. We have some good momentum going thus far and having someone fill in and help in this critical role is important.
